Privacy Policy
HomeEffective date: May 2026
Where Ya Eatin helps users track food, calories, macros, weight, goals, and accountability progress. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
Information we collect
We may collect your email address, display name, Google profile photo, calorie and macro goals, meal entries, favorites, weight entries, accountability partner connections, friend requests, app settings, and account deletion requests.
When you use AI calorie estimates, we may process the meal description or photo you provide and store limited request logs such as timestamp, account email, request status, calories/macros returned, and the AI assumption.
How we use information
We use your information to provide tracking features, show your progress, support accountability partners, estimate calories/macros, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, and improve the app.
Accountability sharing
If you add an accountability partner, that partner may see shared progress information such as recent calorie totals, calorie goals, macro summaries, logging status, and accountability alerts. Your private weight history is not intended to be shared with accountability partners.
Third-party services
We use Firebase/Google services for authentication and data storage, Google sign-in for account access, OpenAI for AI estimates, USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts for nutrition lookups, and Gmail/Google services for contact email delivery.
Data storage and security
App data is stored with Firebase/Google Cloud services and server-side logs. We use reasonable safeguards and access controls, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Selling personal data
We do not sell your personal data.
Data deletion
You can delete your account from Settings or request help through the Contact page. See the Data Deletion Policy for more detail.
